Restoration of historical glass paintings:

Cathedral Sevilla

History of the windows

The glass painter Enrique Aleman created the first windows. The 12 windows which had arised in 1478 are even today in
preservation. In a special way these Spanish windows unite with the same sorts of windows in Germany and show us a way of
the Middle-aged European trade. The middle-aged technique of painting on glass and the art which had been developed in Germany
was taken to Soain by "Heinrich, der Deutsche".

Restoration measures

The well damaged windows are getting restorated at the moment in our studios. We will install an interior ventilation of exterior
protective glazing. This means that we don't have to restorate it again very soon, but it also means that it keeps the origin very
well. For the first time there's the opportunity to reveal graphic or photographic about the state. Our glass workers with diploma have the task to do this work.

The painting on the panels has nearly been cleared up completeley. To re-establish the shown scene, we have reconstructed, by
using the leftovers of the painting on a second float glass panel.

The reconstruction of the last colour on a second, fitted in front float glass panel make up the illustration.
